About
What has 20 years in marketing got to show for itself? Well, I’ve lost my hair during this time, which was a given, but I’ve also managed to work on such a broad spectrum of work and clients. Not all good that’s for sure, but each one you learn from and put it into the next project.
I’m currently putting this knowledge to use at The Leith Agency in Edinburgh Scotland as the Executive Creative Director. I’m now in my 10th year and over this time I’ve been responsible for the output of the creative work on clients like IRN-BRU, Macallan, Natwest, Famous Grouse, Scottish Government among many, many more.
Before this I worked in London where I found out what hard work was. Early starts, paid for taxi’s home.
Before that I started my career half a mile from where I am today in Edinburgh as an Art director.
Before that, actually how far back do you want to go? Honestly I wanted to be a car designer that’s where I started.
I’ve always been a player manager. I still enjoy doing the work. I tend to now take the briefs no one really wants, but that’s fine. Better than being one of those who pinch the good briefs.
And over my time I’ve been lucky enough to pick up some awards. Shiny things that you can put on a shelf that no one outside our industry cares about. But I care and I find these days caring is half the battle.
